A 19-year-old man was killed late Wednesday night when his car and a tractor trailer collided.

The accident happened a little before 10:30 p.m. on Route 222, near Route 73, in Maidencreek Twp., Berks Co.

Craig Pelham Jr. of Reading was killed when the truck knocked his car against a guard rail, police said.

Pelham died at the scene of multiple injuries, the coroner said.

The truck driver suffered some minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital.

He told police the car came onto the highway from Snyder Road and into the truck's path.

The accident is still under investigation.
