Veterans honored during ceremonies around Berks County
Special ceremonies across Berks County honored those who have served our country on this Veterans Day.
Dozens took a moment to honor veterans at Veterans Grove in Reading's City Park.
City and county officials gathered with veterans to honor and remember all of those who risked their lives.
"It's always good to honor our brothers and sisters as a military family," said Diane Price, a veteran. "Everyone who served in the military is a member of a very special family."
The Combined Veterans Council of Berks County sponsors events in City Park on Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
Veterans were also remembered outside FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading.
A wreath was placed near the dog tag sculpture outside the ballpark.
The ceremony was organized by the American Legion Gregg Post 12.
Students and staff members spent the day honoring veterans in the Conrad Weiser School District.
There was plenty of red, white and blue as students at Conrad Weiser East Elementary put on an assembly to say thanks to the men and women who served our country.
Dozens of veterans from the community were on hand.
