It's a girl! The wife of a slain Berks County deputy sheriff has had her baby.
Alecia Pagerly has delivered their daughter, Savannah Kylie Pagerly.
She was born at 1:16 a.m. Friday, at Reading Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs., 9 oz.
Alecia's husband, Kyle Pagerly, 28,was killed in the line of duty on June 29, 2011.
They had found out she was pregnant with their first child before he died.
Kyle was killed by 25-year-old Matthew Connor in what some have called a suicide by cop.
Deputies were trying to arrest Connor at his home on Pine Swamp Road in Albany Twp. on a charge of burglary. Connor slipped out the back of the house and law enforcement officers followed.
Connor had an AK-47 assault rifle which he pointed at officers. When he didn't drop the gun as ordered by officers, they shot. Both he and Pagerly were fatally wounded.
