Youngsters are "Reaching out to Reading" to make the city a better place to live.
Youth group members from the West Lawn United Methodist Church and Zion Church in Hamburg spent this week doing community service projects in Reading.
They were hard at work on Buttonwood Street on Friday. They were painting, sweeping and picking up trash.
"We do work in the city on North Front, Buttonwood, Pear, Johnson over here and other places," said Pastor Bill Hetrich, West Lawn United Methodist Church. "We do work for folks that are disabled or just don't have any money and they're in need. We hopefully will supply their need, in Jesus' name.
This is the seventh year the churches have helped spruce up Reading.
