The former treasurer of a fire company's social quarters has surrendered to authorities on theft charges.
Kathleen Yoder, with her attorney, Jim Polyak, by her side, turned herself in at Magisterial District Judge Dean Patton's office in Muhlenberg Township on Friday.
Her surrender came three days after police put out a plea for the public's help in locating Yoder, whom they believed had relocated to Florida instead of surrendering, as planned, in July.
Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were filed against Yoder in March.
Yoder stands accused of stealing money from the Temple Fire Company social quarters, where she served as treasurer, according to police, who said that the missing money totals more than $70,000 since 2012.
Yoder was committed to the Berks County Jail on Friday after failing to post $10,000 bail.
