FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading has made a list of the top 10 best minor league ballparks in the United States.
The 62-year-old stadium, home to the Reading Fightin Phils, came in at number three in the rankings, as chosen by readers of "USA Today" and "10Best."
"We couldn’t be more honored by the fan support that helped make FirstEnergy Stadium one of the top three minor league baseball destinations in the country,” said Scott Hunsicker, the Fightin Phils' general manager. "For over six decades, generations of fans from near and far have found their way to Baseballtown and America's Classic Ballpark for an authentic minor league baseball experience."
The poll website said FirstEnergy Stadium is "a museum to the city's baseball history under the main grandstand and, once you step back into the sunlight, a playground that includes a pool, picnic area, outfield boardwalk and a pyrotechnic train that's part of the home run celebration."
The top spot went to Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, Iowa, home to the Quad Cities River Bandits, the single A affiliate of the Houston Astros.
