READING, Pa. -

A Reading High School student has been arrested in the attack of a teacher inside a classroom.

Andrew Rosa was charged Wednesday with aggravated and simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Rosa, 18, was shooting rubber bands across a classroom inside the high school on the afternoon of June 3 when the teacher, Steven Dietrich, asked him to stop, according to court documents.

Rosa refused, and Dietrich told him to stop or he would be removed from the classroom, police said.

Rosa told Dietrich he can't be removed, stood up and punched the teacher in the head and several times in the side of his body, said police, who noted that Rosa also attempted to bite Dietrich.

In the meantime, police said Dietrich and another teacher tried to keep the other students safe and get them out of the classroom until security guards could respond and control the situation.

Dietrich suffered a minor cut on a finger.

Rosa was released Wednesday on $20,000 unsecured bail.
