ROBESONIA, Pa. -

A tight-knit community is coming together in tragedy.

Organizers said they received thousands of dollars in donations at a bake sale for Ashley Kline's family. It was held at the Sunoco on Penn Avenue in Robesonia.

Organizers said proceeds will cover the funeral costs.

Kline's body was found stabbed and burned in a wooded area of Lancaster County last weekend. That was more than a week after she had been reported missing.

Organizers said the response has been amazing.

"Our community has reached out a lot. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many has brought items in," said Cammie Strunk.

"They started coming in last night about 4:00 in the evening and I came down and there two tables full of 'em," said Kathie Hersey.

Donations can also be made at the borough's National Penn Bank branch.

Ryan Schannauer of Spring Township and Adam Lynch of Reading have been charged with homicide in connection with Kline's death. They're in the Lancaster County Prison.
