READING, Pa. -

Volunteers started the day Thursday with a rally in Reading.

They gathered at FirstEnergy Stadium to kick off the 2016 United Way Day of Caring.

The volunteers headed out from the ballpark to communities across Berks County. They helped give back through different projects, like cleaning parks.

The United Way of Berks County said about 400 people signed up to volunteer.

The organization also launched its annual fundraising campaign, with the goal of raising $10 million.
