WEST READING, Pa. -

The woman accused of stealing hundreds of dollars from a brewpub in Berks County will be spending her 43rd birthday behind bars.

West Reading police announced the arrest Thursday afternoon of Misty Refael, who turns 43 on Friday.

Refael is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, according to Detective Joe Brown, West Reading Police Department. She has been committed to the Berks County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Refael walked into Chatty Monks at 610 Penn Avenue on Wednesday, claiming to be raising money for a charitable cause, according to the manager, Nick Cacchione.

The manager said surveillance cameras captured video of Refael going behind the bar and swiping the brewpub's bank bag as she waited for him to emerge from the back of the business.
