A teenage Northampton Co. boy has died after the ATV he was riding hit a downed tree Monday night.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m.

Officials said Robert Mills was on an all-terrain vehicle with another person when they hit a newly fallen tree on West Center Street, near Route 33 in Plainfield Twp.

Mills, 17, of 81 Eighth Street, Wind Gap, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill where he was pronounced dead of severe head injuries at 1:13 a.m. Tuesday.
