2 charged in Lehigh County drug investigation that led to officer being hit by car
Suspects still at large
Two people are on the loose after police say a drug deal ended with an officer being hit by a car.
It happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Amanda and Court streets in Allentown.
Police say members of the Lehigh County Drug Task Force were attempting to take 26-year-old Clifton Glover into custody after watching him sell heroin, when he jumped into a car and hit the gas.
Police say Glover ran into Slatington police officer Timothy Wagner and kept driving at a high rate of speed.
Wagner was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Police are still looking for Glover and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Kelly Sue Ettl of 4654 Cortland Drive in Orefield.
Glover is charged with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury to a police officer; recklessly endangering another person; criminal use of a communication facility; possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance; delivery of a controlled substance; criminal conspiracy and driving without a valid license.
Ettl is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.
Both remain at large.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to contact Allentown police at 610-437-7721. People with information also can send an anonymous text message tip to police that allows police to respond, creating a two-way anonymous “chat.”
