It's time to take a look back at the stories making headlines this week in the 69 News week in review.

State College spent most of the week mourning the loss of former football coach Joe Paterno.

After news of Paterno's death on Sunday, the university was the scene of tributes and memorials to the man who coached Penn State for more than 40 years.

A public viewing was held all day Tuesday and again on Wednesday morning, followed by a private funeral service Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday, the Bryce Jordan Center was the scene of a large memorial service for JoePa.

Former football players, students, and friends of the Paterno's recalled stories of his life, and how he helped shape Penn State's athletic reputation and it's educational pursuits.

On Monday, an elderly woman in Berks County was placed in intensive care after police say her own grandson beat her.

Police said Michael McDaniel, 30, repeatedly beat Helen Badulak in the head with her walking cane at their home in Exeter Township.

They said Badulak called 9-1-1 for help during the attack.

Police said McDaniel admitted to beating his grandmother.

He's facing a number of charges including attempted homicide.

On Wednesday, one teenager was killed, another sent to a local hospital after being shot by a man who police say was acting in self defense.

The incident happened on the Thun Trail near the Schuylkill River in Cumru Township.

Police said three teenagers approached a 65-year-old man, pushed him to the ground and tried to rob him.

They said two of the teens were assaulting the man when he opened fire.

Julius Johnson, 16, of Reading was killed.

Officials said this was the third person the teens tried to rob on the trail that morning.

They said the teens were supposed to be in school, but chose to skip class that day.

On Friday, State Police said a man who previously threatened to kill his estranged wife and boyfriend acted upon his threat.

Police arrested Lloyd William Hill, 42, and charged him for the murders of Frederick Tarantino, 43 and Stefanie Hill, 36, of Nockamixon Township, Bucks County.

Police said Tarantino was beaten to death by a baseball bat, and Stefanie Hill was stabbed several times.

Officials said Stefanie was still married to the accused, but was living with the other victim- Tarantino.

And, they said Tarantino's ex-wife was living with Lloyd Hill.

Officials said the four had met at church.
