A wet but fun Halloween night
While trick or treaters had to deal with some rain Thursday night, it was the first Halloween in a couple years major weather events didn't put a damper on things. Last year, Superstorm Sandy had just hit and the year before was filled with snow.
69 News caught up with kids and their parents in a neighborhood in Forks Township, Northampton County. The rain didn't stop the fun.
"At least it's not so wet that we can't get out and walk around and have a good time," said parent Adam Martin.
"The weather's a little bad but we'll power through it," said parent Manny Ortiz.
"We're battling through the rain but we got umbrellas and they're having fun, that's all that matters," said Kim Billitz, who was helping to supervise a group of children. "I like dressing them up and myself. I have a tutu on so it's fun for all of us."
"Tonight is fun, it's fun. I got in from work early, was able to come out with the kids" said parent Jeffrey Peniston.
Harold and Betsy Ziegler had a fun time handing out candy to trick or treaters.
"A couple years ago the snow and then last year Sandy had the storm coming through so this year is for the kids," said Harold.
With safety in mind, Patient First in Allentown even had its x-rays on standby in case people wanted to bring in their candy to get screened for objects.
