ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

An Allentown attorney wants to turn her court experience into a seat on the bench.

Christy Schlottman has announced her candidacy for Magesterial District Judge for District 31-1-02 in Lehigh County.

Schlottman said she's seeking the seat to use her expertise to bring quality and commitment to the district.

“A fair and efficient bench is of the utmost importance to me. As a lawyer, I have the practical experience necessary to meet the duties of this position," Schlottman said. "I have tried cases, taken them up on appeal and have been successful in both respects. I am best suited to serve the people of Allentown having handled the types of cases that would be appearing before me,” she added.

Schlottman, a fifth generation Pennsylvanian, was born and raised in northeast Pennsylvania.

She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from American University, and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.

For the past six years, she's been in private practice in the Lehigh Valley.
