An Allentown man is facing several charges after police said he repeatedly punched his pregnant girlfriend and her 2-year-old son on Saturday.
Police said Andres Robles-Cordero, 53, of 418 Green St., hit his girlfriend, Rebecca Maglulio, several times in the face, and hit and pushed her son onto the home's porch.
She told police that Robles-Cordero hit her son, then picked him up and threw him onto the porch. Maglulio hit her when she tried to intervene on her son's behalf. The blow made her fall, and he hit her two more times and began to pull her hair when a neighbor approached them.
The neighbor heard the boy crying and went outside to investigate, he told police. When the witness came outside, he told police he saw Robles-Cordero standing over Maglugio, hitting her with a closed fist.
When the witness intervened, Robles-Cordero ran away. Police caught up with him a short distance away and took him into custody.
Police said Robles-Cordero showed signs of being intoxicated.
Robles-Cordero is not the father of the boy.
Robles-Cordero faces charges of simple assault against a child under 12 by person 21 or over, simple assault, harassment, and public drunkenness.
