An Allentown man is being held on $1 million bail after an early-morning search of his North Elliger Street apartment turned up drugs and a stolen handgun.

Allentown police charged Derwin Deris with four counts each of possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of receiving stolen property for the Glock 27 handgun authorities allegedly found in his bedroom.

The stolen property and possession with intent to deliver charges are all felonies.

District Judge Patricia Engler arraigned the 30-year-old Tuesday afternoon. He failed to post bail and was sent to Lehigh County Jail.

The Allentown Police Department’s vice unit executed a search warrant on Deris’s apartment in the 500 block of North Elliger Street just after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police found the stolen handgun along with a loaded six-round magazine, an extended 30-round magazine and a box of ammunition, according to court records. The search turned up 146 glassine bags of heroine, three baggies of crack, a baggie of cocaine, a baggie of heroin, 19 oxycodone pills stamped “K57” and two bags of marijuana, according to court records.

Investigators said they also found a box of unused glassine bags, a digital scale, two cell phones, $565 in cash, a holster and a Pyrex dish and a sifter containing a white, powdery residue. Authorities field tested the residue, which tested positive for cocaine.

Deris allegedly admitted to police that the drugs and gun they found in a second-floor bedroom belonged to him.

His next court date is a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Oct. 25.
