ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

An Allentown man was charged Wednesday with the theft of five vehicles which were taken over a three-month period, according the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

Twenty-one-year-old Kadeem Roberts, of the 400 block of S. 17th Street, was charged with five counts of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, both felonies.

Detectives investigated the thefts of five vehicles taken between May 14, 2016 and August 14, 2016. The thefts occurred in Upper Macungie Township, Salisbury Township, South Whitehall Township, and Lower Macungie Township.

In June, a fingerprint was found at the scene of a burglary of a garage where a vehicle was taken. The fingerprint was matched to Roberts.

Investigation determined that Roberts was a “lookout” at that burglary, but he participated in the thefts of the five other vehicles.

All of the vehicles were recovered within a small geographical area of Allentown.

According to the DA's office, each vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys inside prior to being taken.
