Allentown police have another homicide on their hands.

James Sims died at Lehigh Valley Hospital around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Lehigh County coroner's office.

Sims, 27, of 134 N. Hall St., Allentown, died of a gunshot wound to the body, the coroner said.

Sims was shot in the back around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Washington Street, said police, adding that Sims was driven to Sacred Heart Hospital in a private vehicle and then taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting. They said no arrests have been made.
