Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski nominated interim Fire Chief Lee Laubach for the job on a permanent basis.
Laubach is a 23-year veteran of the department, who has served as interim chief since February 2015., the city said in a release.
“Lee is doing a fantastic job as chief of the department and as the city’s Emergency Management Coordinator. He has the confidence of the administration, the fire department and the community," Mayor Ed Pawlowski said.
Laubach’s nomination must be confirmed by City Council.
“I believe we have created a strong and solid foundation within the Allentown Fire Department over the last year and a half. The department has worked diligently to expand and improve our community outreach, training and fire prevention activities" Laubach said.
