Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan announces bid for Northampton County executive

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan made it official Thursday.

Callahan formally announced his candidacy for Northampton County executive at an event at the Gracedale Nursing Home.

Callahan has been the mayor of Bethlehem for the last 10 years. Before that, he served on city council.

Glenn Reibman, a fellow Democrat and former county executive, has already announced his candidacy for the position.

Current Executive John Stoffa is not running for re-election.
