A brief bomb scare forced some residents of Northampton County out of their homes Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were summoned to 8220 Airport Rd. in East Allen Township for the discovery of what officials described as a hollowed-out, lemon-size device.
Twenty-six mobile homes in the Groff Mobile Home Park were evacuated for about an hour while state police and the Bethlehem Bomb Squad investigated. They determined the device was not a threat, said officials, adding that it contained no fuse or explosives.
No one was injured.
