College-bound women can compete for scholarships
High school seniors who've been accepted to Cedar Crest College for the fall 2012 semester can compete for scholarships.
The college will host its third annual scholarship competition day on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Tompkins College center.
All participants are guaranteed a one-time $2,000 scholarship, with one competitor winning the top prize: a full, four-year tuition scholarship.
As part of the competition, students will take a multiple-choice exam in subjects including math, English,science, arts and the humanities.
Participants will also complete a written essay, tour the campus and learn about Cedar Crest from current students.
Registration is open to first-year college students only.
Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 and 1050 SAT (critical reading and math).
