EASTON, Pa. -

Local police officers are trying to bridge the gap between themselves and the communities they serve.

Easton officers invited residents to have "Coffee with a Cop" at a local McDonald's Monday.

Community members were able to sit down at the 25th Street McDonald's and chat with officers from Wilson Borough and Palmer Township.

"Try to build a bond and show that we're accessible. People can stop by our station and talk to us," said Chief Larry Palmer.

Parents stopped by to discuss after-school safety and residents were able to voice their concerns about other community needs.
