Coopersburg's police chief Daniel C. Trexler running for magistrate judge
From one side of the law to the other: a police chief in Lehigh County wants to be a magistrate judge.
Coopersburg Police Chief Daniel C. Trexler has announced his candidacy for Magisterial District Judge in District Court 31-3-03m serving Upper Saucon and Lower Milford townships and the borough of Coopersburg.
The position is being vacated by retiring District Judge David B. Harding.
Trexler is a graduate of the Allentown Police Academy and has been an officer on the Coopersburg police force since 1995, and its chief since 2000.
According to a release, Trexler said he has conducted summary trials as the prosecuting officer, has testified countless times as a witness and has experience in the criminal justice system.
