Pennsylvania State Police say crime is down in the Keystone State and in the Lehigh Valley.

A newly-released report shows crime was down in both Lehigh and Northampton counties in 2011, as compared to the previous year.

It says there were about 200 fewer crimes reported in Lehigh County and 400 fewer in Northampton County.

The number of violent crimes -- like murder, rape and robbery --was down in Lehigh County, but it jumped slightly in Northampton County.

As a whole, State Police say there were fewer reported crimes and fewer arrests in Pennsylvania in 2011.
