One person was injured in an accident that knocked out power to several homes and closed a road Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The accident, which occurred around 12:30 p.m. at Old Post Road and Court Street in North Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., closed Old Post Road between Mauch Chunk and Levans roads, officials said.

At least one person was injured in the accident and taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, according to officials.

69 News crews at the scene said the female driver of the vehicle somehow lost control and crashed into a utility pole, flipping the vehicle and bringing down an electrical wire, which knocked out power to six homes.
