EASTON, Pa. -

Police in Easton have arrested a former employee in connection with an armed robbery that happened early Monday morning.

Police were called to the Square One Market at 158 S. Third Street around 1:40 a.m.

Police said a past employee displayed a handgun and robbed the store of cigarettes and an unknownn amount of cash.

The former employee was identified as Jesse James Kelly, 20, of the 100 block of Lachenour Avenue in Easton.

Police found Kelly on Larry Holmes Drive at the Free Bridge. He was in possession of the stolen items and a handgun.

Police arrested Kelly on charges of robbery, theft, possessing instruments of crime and receiving stolen property.

He was taken to the Northampton County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
