Ex-Bangor teacher appealing for reduced sentence after being convicted of sex with student

A former Northampton County teacher who was convicted of having sex with a student is asking for a lesser sentence.

Former Bangor Area High School teacher Rachel Farrell was sentenced last week to five to 23 months in prison and three year's probation. Now her attorney has filed a motion on her behalf asking for a lesser sentence or house arrest.

Investigators say Farrell had multiple sexual encounters with male students while teaching at Bangor.
