Fla. police trying to solve hit-and-run that killed former Lehigh County resident
Investigators in Palm Beach County, Fla. are trying to solve a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a former Salisbury Township resident.
Paula Vinsky, 47, was walking along a road Wednesday night when a sports utility fatally struck her, according to the Palm Beach Post.
A resident of Loxahatchee, Fla., Vinksy was a special ed teacher in the Palm Beach County School District.
As of early Saturday morning, investigators were still trying to locate the driver who fatally struck Vinsky.
Vinsky was a 1983 graduate of Salisbury Senior High School and 1987 graduate of Kutztown University, according to her Facebook page.
The guestbook accompanying Vinsky's online obituary included comments remembering her as an excellent teacher and friend.
One friend recalled "her wonderful smile, her optimistic attitude toward life, and her concern about others. As a fellow teacher I can say that Paula was an exemplary and dedicated teacher. both her students and friends will deeply miss her. My deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones. "
Another person posted: "She was a dedicated and caring teacher who loved life. She possessed a great wit and a wonderful sense of humor."
