ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Old Glory is flying high above the Queen City Friday.

The stars and stripes were raised Friday morning at Allentown City Hall in honor of Flag Day, which is Saturday.

Veterans and city officials were on hand to speak at the celebration.

Flag Day was first celebrated nationally in 1916, but Pennsylvania was the first state to recognize Flag Day as a state holiday back 1937.

The celebration will continue Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. with the annual Flag Day Concert at West Park.
