Former Air Products CEO, Dexter Baker, passes away
One of the Lehigh Valley's most noted philanthropists has died.
Dexter Baker was CEO of Air Products from 1986 to 1992 but remained active with the company and the community for many years after.
Air Products announced Monday that Baker died last week at the age of 85.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dexter’s wife Dottie and his family," said John McGlade, Air Products chairman, president and CEO. "Dexter was a constant advocate for the health and success of this company. He was a pioneer for Air Products in many ways. He was very good at setting tough goals, one of which was globalizing Air Products and he led the way in achieving this. We are now in over 50 countries."
Baker was a trustee at Lehigh University. The school's Baker Concert Hall is named after him.
