A former Lehigh County school district secretary has been charged with felony computer crimes.
Police say Catherine Venusto of New Tripoli illegally accessed Northwestern Lehigh's computer system thousands of times from June of 2010 to this past February.
Venusto was a part-time secretary responsible for initiating the computer sign-on and password for Superintendent Mary Anne Wright.
Police say Venusto used Wright's information to change one grade each for her daughter and son.
She also allegedly accessed district email and human resources data.
State police say Venusto admitted changing the grades, saying she thought her actions were unethical but not illegal.
The district says there's no evidence anyone's confidential information was used illegally.
The district is also reviewing its computer security procedures and enhancing its security.
