Group looking for support of farm to table initiative

A local group passionate about  food that's grown on the farm and placed right on your table is looking for some help.

The North American Farm to Food initiative recently acquired a farm in Alburtis, Lehigh County.

Officials said their goal is to turn the area into a one-stop-shop for kids to learn about sustainability, food economy,mechanics and more.

"We want to start up a farm, which is right here. A farm to table restaurant, and an education center where we utilize all of our resources on one property to feed, to educate, and to inform," said Ryan Sabo, Founder.

A dinner to raise some funds for the farm to food initiative is being held Monday at 6 p.m. at the Longswamp Tavern in Macungie.
