Joanna Scandlen sentenced for robbing pair of convenience stores
A woman has been ordered to prison for robbing a pair of convenience stores in Bethlehem.
Joanna Scandlen was sentenced Wednesday to two to four years in state prison, followed by 10 years probation, officials said.
Scandlen pleaded guilty on Feb. 15 to two counts of robbery. Other charges were dropped.
Scandlen robbed the Quick Fill gas station and a 7-Eleven store, both on Linden Street in Bethlehem, in September.
Police eventually tracked Scandlen down in jail after her arrest on a retail theft charge in Allentown. She told police she committed the holdups because she was financially desperate.
