Julio Acevedo faces new charges in death of family
A Brooklyn man who turned himself into authorities in the Lehigh Valley is facing new charges for his role in a fatal hit-and-run crash.
Julio Acevedo was charged with vehicular manslaughter in New York City Tuesday.
Police say Acevedo was speeding on March 3rd, and crashed into a car carrying a pregnant woman and her husband.
The couple died at the scene. The baby was delivered, then died the next day.
Acevedo was arrested in the Lehigh Valley on March 6.
His lawyer says the crash was not a crime, but a tragic accident.
