Jury finds Manuel Figueroa guilty of 3rd degree murder

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A Lehigh County Jury found an Allentown man guilty of third degree murder Friday.

Manuel Figueroa, 19, was found guilty Friday of third degree murder and recklessly endangering another person, according to his attorney Glennis Clark.

Police said Figueroa shot Danny Velez, 19, of Allentown in the head in front of his home in September 2011.

Prosecutors were seeking the death penalty if Figueroa was found guilty of first degree murder.

He is set to be sentenced on April 15th.
