Jury selection began Monday in Northampton County for two men accused of bilking Bethlehem Township out of close to a million dollars.
Robert Kearns and P.J. McLaine, both of Lackawanna County, are facing charges.
The two men, investigators said, made an $800,000 deal with the township, promising to save it money on streetlights.
Township officials, however, said the men did almost no work and kept all the money.
The men are facing similar charges in Schuylkill and Carbon counties.
