Karate instructor accused of having sexual contact with student pleads guilty to corruption charge

A Lehigh County karate instructor accused of sexually assaulting one of his young female students pleaded guilty in court on Monday.
Shahrokh Mahrkar, who pleaded guilty to a corruption of minors charge, was sentenced to five years probation, the first three months of which will be on house arrest.
Police charged Mahrkar with having sexual contact with a student for two years starting in 2009, when she was 12 years old.
Mahrkar was working at the American Mixed Martial Arts Dojo in Trexlertown at the time.
