A department store clerk was arrested for stealing more than $500 in refund money and selling marijuana to a co-worker, officials said.
Anthony M. Diehl pocketed $440 last Friday and $62 last Wednesday while he was processing refunds at the Kmart at 3843 Nazareth Pike, Bethlehem Twp., Northampton Co., said officials, adding that the $440 was recovered but the $62 was not.
When questioned by police last Friday, Diehl also admitted he sold $20 worth of marijuana to a co-worker and also turned over two plastic bags of the drug he had hidden in his sock, officials said.
Police contacted Diehl's co-worker and seized the pot he purchased, they said.
Diehl, 19, of 250 East Goepp St., Bethlehem, was arraigned on charges of drug possession and theft and released on $10,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 11.
