Lawsuit settled over homicide in parking lot of former nightclub, Banana Joe's, in Allentown

A now-defunct nightclub in Allentown has settled a lawsuit stemming from a deadly shooting in the club's parking lot.

The lawsuit was filed against Banana Joe's on behalf of Michael Douglas, a 19-year-old man who was shot and killed at the club in 2007.

An attorney said the nightclub has been ordered to pay $144,000 to Douglas's estate.

Another victim, who was shot in the hand during the incident, will get $16,000.

Banana Joe's shut down less than two weeks after the shooting, and there have no arrests in connection with the homicide.
