Lehigh County officials are testing a new emergency information system and some residents are still being taken by surprise.
Officials say the county's 911 center received more than 200 calls Wednesday regarding "Reverse 911."
That's the emergency information system the county is testing.
Officials say most of the callers don't have an answering machine and didn't recognize the number on their caller ID.
That number is (610) 782-4600.
Officials are urging people who don't have an answering machine to sign up for text or email alerts through the county's website -- lehighcounty.org.
