Lehigh Valley Health Network unveils eco-friendlier vans
The Lehigh Valley Health Network is unveiling a new effort to promote health but this one isn't for patients.
The network showed off its two new, environmentally-friendly utility vans Wednesday.
The vans run on clean-burning compressed natural gas and they'll be used by the network's engineers as they travel to different hospitals.
"It helps us to reduce the costs of our operations as well as helps us to improve the sustainability," said Craig Onori.
The health network is partnering up with the Lehigh Gas Corporation which unveiled a new natural gas pump at a local Exxon station.
The network says the new vans will save about $1,200 a year in fuel costs.
And they'll leave behind less of a carbon footprint.
