Luis Ayala spit on officer and damaged police car

He was arrested for fighting with two females in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

Twenty-two-year-old Luis Ayala of Bethlehem spit on a police officer and damaged a patrol car after he was arrested early Sunday morning.

The incident happened at 1:28 a.m. Sunday at 520 Wyandotte St.

Ayala initially was arrested for harassment for fighting with two females.

He was handcuffed by Bethlehem police because of his aggressive demeanor.

Without providing specifics, police reported Ayala damaged a patrol car on the way to police headquarters. At the police station, he spit at arresting officers, hitting one in the face.

In addition to two counts of of harassment, Ayala was charged with aggravated assault and institutional vandalism.

He resides in the 600 block of Wyandotte Street.
