The Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem is helping to fuel an increase in the state's gambling revenue.

The Sands reported a 27 percent increase in table game spending for the month of May.

Other casinos in the state also reported increases -- most notably the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in western Pennsylvania -- which saw a 52 percent gain.

Regulators said Monday that six other casinos also reported table games growth.

Presque Isle Downs Casino in Erie and Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh showed declines, the result of increased competition from other states.

May slots revenue was down less than 1 percent.

Pennsylvania is the nation's second-largest gambling market after Las Vegas.
