2 Allentown men charged with violent jewelry store robbery in York County
Two Allentown men are facing charges in connection with a violent robbery of a jewelry store in York County.
The U.S. Attorney's office in Philadelphia said the indictment against the Allentown men plus a third man has been unsealed.
Jamell Smallwood, 42, and Timothy Forbes, 31, both of Allentown, and 38-year-old Jesse Brewer of Jamaica, N.Y., are charged with robbery and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.
The charges are in connection with the July 12, 2012 robbery of White Jewelers in York, Pa., when the owner of the store was also shot three times, causing severe injuries.
An indictment returned by a Harrisburg grand jury on January 30 was sealed pending Smallwood's arrest. A superseding indictment was returned on May 15 adding charges against Forbes and Brewer.
The case is being jointly investigated by the York Area Regional Police Dept. and the FBI.
