A 6-year-old Northampton County boy is lucky to be alive after he nearly drowned in a swimming pool Sunday evening.
The unresponsive boy was pulled out of a pool around 7 p.m. at a home in the 4400 block of Homestead Drive in Lower Nazareth Township, officials said.
Luckily, a neighbor gave the boy CPR and revived him, officials said.
The neighbor--Timothy Walters-- is a retired firefighter from New York.
The boy was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethelehem, then transferred to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County.
The boy was reported in fair condition.
Police urge residents to ensure that all safety precautions are taken around pools and young children.
