ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

An 86-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his 54-year-old son on Monday, according to Allentown police.

Roy L. Tarboro was charged with the criminal homicide of Rickey Tarboro Sr. Monday night and is being held in Lehigh County Prison without bail, police said.

Police said they are unable at this time to provide further details into the deadly shooting, which occurred in front of 712 East Allen Street in Allentown around 6:40 p.m. Monday.

When they arrived on the scene they found Rickey Tarboro Sr. outside the house, police said.

His father was taken into custody a short time later.

The Lehigh County coroner's office said Tarboro died from a gunshot wound to the body and the death was ruled a homicide.

An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office and the Allentown Police Department are conducting the investigation with the help of the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force and Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin.
