Residents from various neighborhoods in the Allentown area gathered Saturday for the first "Allentown Neighborhood Summit."
Sacred Heart Hospital hosted the day's event.
The summit featured workshops on how neighborhoods can work together through communication including emergency preparedness, housing solutions, and how to deal with volatile situations.
"We work in the neighborhood so we're trying to be involved in the bettering of the neighborhoods and getting other folks involved to work in the neighborhood," said Pat Jackson.
The event was in conjunction with Allentown's Week without Violence.
Mayor Ed Pawlowski was on hand for the event to help preach the main word of the day, which was to communicate.
