Allentown police are investigating the city's first homicide this year.
A 20-year-old man was shot and killed around 2 a.m. Saturday at North Penn and Tilghman streets, police said.
The name of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, will be released upon positive identification and notification of next of kin, the Lehigh County coroner's office said Saturday morning.
An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning.
Police said the investigation is in its initial phases. At this point, authorities have yet to say if any suspects have been identified. Police said detectives are actively investigating the incident.
